SUBJECT: YOUR BVNW PTO Weekly Update - September 11 2025

Wishes GRANTED!!!

Our new "Pop-up" Grant program has been POPular with teachers and more so far! In the first month alone, the PTO granted three teacher "wishes" including a request from our new Librarian for raffle prizes to incent students to discover their library's resources. A win-win in our opinion!

WHAT'S NEWS

Our Fall Grant Program is open and promises to be the biggest program impact yet! Our Fall and Spring Grants are hallmark PTO programs where we allocate thousands of dollars to support Clubs/Extracurricular Activities, Sports and MORE...

A few examples of what PTO Grant allocations have paid for: volleyballs to kick off our Boys' VB Team, rockets to get our Robotics Club started, supplies to keep our Choir, Band, Color Guard and Cheerleaders performing, equipment and technology to keep our Sports Teams competitive, supplies to help our Spanish Club and more!

We will be taking applications until September 26th to be approved at our October 14th meeting (JOIN US!). Please consider donating to the PTO's Grant Program HERE so we have the funds to meet all of our school's needs!

How is this different from the "Pop-Up" Grant Program?

Our Grant Program wasn't working well for teachers and others who had less costly and mostly supply needs "pop-up" during the school year. So we re-allocated some of our grant monies to a "Pop-up" program. This is reserved for more immediate requests for supplies typically under $250. The teachers and administrators have been loving it so far as it allows them to fund their needs and ideas to enrich both the students' academic experience as well as school spirit!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT...

Did you sign up for a PTO Membership via ParentVue? Thank you for your support! However, sadly our database doesn't "talk" to the District's database so there is a 2+ month lag time between signing up there and being recognized as a member in our system and reaping the benefits like access to the Directory. You can help expedite this process by creating an account on our website.

Our Newsletter is in a test period. We are testing new formats/software, frequency and distribution channels so we can get the word out to those who want to be 'in the know' without inundating those who don't. Related to this, we are attempting to "clean up" our parent/member database. So, if you have received this newsletter directly but have kids that are "grown and flown", let us know and we'll take you out of the database. Or, if you clicked into this letter indirectly and want to be added to the list, create an account on our website. Feedback on content, format or anything else is always welcome! BVNWPTO@gmail.com

To catch up, previous newsletters can be found HERE.

WHAT WE'VE DONE

The Soccer Tailgate was a success!

A record number of attendees showed up to cheer on our boys for their first home game against rival BV North. The tailgate organizers outfitted them with beads, sunglasses, tattoos and more. BVNW students and their families munched their way through 200 Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, 10 pizzas, chips and cookies and ice cream! Thank you so much to Mary Rafferty, Emily Banyas and the rest of the Soccer Parent volunteers!

Breakfast for our Teachers

Our terrific Teacher Appreciation Chairpersons, led by Candace King, treated our teachers and administrators to a wonderful breakfast to kick off teacher in-service day on Tuesday, September 8th.

STUGO Partnership

PTO leadership met with representatives of our Student Government and their sponsors to plan how to best support student-led activities like the upcoming Homecoming Dance and the Dawg Walk. We look forward to a productive and inspirational partnership!
