IN CASE YOU MISSED IT...

Did you sign up for a PTO Membership via ParentVue? Thank you for your support! However, sadly our database doesn't "talk" to the District's database so there is a 2+ month lag time between signing up there and being recognized as a member in our system and reaping the benefits like access to the Directory. You can help expedite this process by creating an account on our website.

Our Newsletter is in a test period. We are testing new formats/software, frequency and distribution channels so we can get the word out to those who want to be 'in the know' without inundating those who don't. Related to this, we are attempting to "clean up" our parent/member database. So, if you have received this newsletter directly but have kids that are "grown and flown", let us know and we'll take you out of the database. Or, if you clicked into this letter indirectly and want to be added to the list, create an account on our website. Feedback on content, format or anything else is always welcome! BVNWPTO@gmail.com

To catch up, previous newsletters can be found HERE.

WHAT WE'VE DONE

Our PTO Kick-off Meeting was a success!

Over 26 attendees were highly engaged and supportive of our goals and activities. Here are a few highlights:

  • The PTO is off to a great start with memberships and Yard Sign sales exceeding expectations so far
  • Academic "pop-up" grant requests are starting to come in and teachers are using their stipends. Additional fundraising will enable extra student activities and more.
  • Ms. Vomhof presented on all of the great things happening and planned in our school (link to PRESENTATION). She also laid out BVNW's 25-26 goals:
    • Academic Excellence (focused on student growth)

    • Student Belonging & Connectedness

    • Future Ready

  • Katie encouraged students to participate in the upcoming tailgate parties and the (newly approved) "Student Day Out" at Main Event (free arcade cards/pizza sponsored by the PTO) during the school day off on November 10th.
  • Chantel gained support for several fundraising ideas: selling gift cards, Kendra Scott give-back event on Nov. 6 and a Trivia Night Parent Event in February.
  • We announced a capital expenditure project to replace the Husky Statue with something newer and more substantial. Don't worry: our Husky will move indoors! If you would like to be part of that effort please email bvnwpto@gmail.com.
  • The group approved our budget which includes Club/Sponsor as well as Academic Grants and additional funds for Student Activities.
  • Concessions worker slots are full for all home games - now we are rooting for some playoff games!

Complete Meeting Notes are available on our WEBSITE.

Our next meeting has changed to Tuesday, October 14th, from 6p-7p. Mr. Richards will give an update on clubs/sports and we will be approving Fall Grants.

BVEF BREAKFAST
