SUBJECT: YOUR BVNW PTO Weekly Update - August 15th 2025

Welcome Back To School!

A big welcome back to your students. We intend to help make it the BEST. YEAR.YET!

WHAT'S NEW

A big welcome to Chantel Hull our new VP of Fundraising and Grants! She has two kiddos: a new BVNW freshman and an OMS middle schooler.

She has some great ideas for fundraisers so we can't wait for her to share those with us at our next meeting. She will also be overseeing our grant programs, including an exciting capitol expenditure project - stay tuned for more!

Interested in getting involved? Meg could use some help with Husky Yard Signs this season with the intention to take over for her next year since her kiddo will be graduating! This is an important Committee position as Yard Signs are great for building school spirit in our community and one of the PTO's most important fundraisers. Meg says that late summer and early fall are the busy times and, after that, the time commitment isn't much. Contact bvnwpto@gmail.com to learn more.

Our Newsletter is in a test period. We are testing new formats/software, frequency and distribution channels so we can get the word out to those who want to be 'in the know' without inundating those who don't. Related to this, we are attempting to "clean up" our parent/member database. So, if you have received this newsletter directly but have kids that are "grown and flown", let us know and we'll take you out of the database. Or, if you clicked into this letter indirectly and want to be added to the list, create an account on our website. Feedback on content, format or anything else is always welcome! BVNWPTO@gmail.com

To catch up, previous newsletters can be found HERE.

WHAT WE'VE DONE

The BVNW PTO welcomed back staff by announcing a - NEW this year - Teacher Stipend and Pop-up (Academic) Grant Program. This stemmed from wanting to expand academic and mental health support as we transitioned from a Booster Club to a PTO. It also aligns with our philosophy that school staff shouldn't need to dip into their own pockets for their classrooms. The stipend will help teachers decorate and supply their classrooms and the grants will provide resources for teaching needs that "pop-up" during the year.

ABOUT YOUR PTO

Our Mission is to foster a strong sense of community, support student spirit and achievement, and strengthen the partnership between parents, teachers and administration.

We plan to do this by:

  • Supporting our teachers, counselors and school staff, so they feel appreciated and equipped with resources needed.
  • Supporting events, sports, clubs and extracurricular activities that enable all students to have positive experiences and build pride for their school.
  • Informing, engaging and growing our community of PTO Members and donors.
