WHAT'S NEWS

Our KICK-OFF MEETING is coming up Monday, August 25th from 7pm-8:30pm in the BVNW Library. This meeting is open to all PTO Members and Prospective Members. Refreshments will be served. Join us to learn what is happening in the school and the PTO, weigh in on our budget spend, share your ideas and suggestions for student and other activities for the year. Detailed agenda is below in the "What's to Come" section.

Did you sign up for a PTO Membership via ParentVue? Thank you for your support! However, sadly our database doesn't "talk" to the District's database so there is a 2+ month lag time between signing up there and being recognized as a member in our system and reaping the benefits like access to the Directory. You can help expedite this process by creating an account on our website.

Interested in a "STUDENT DAY OUT" during a day off school this fall? The PTO is considering sponsoring a "play date" (ha!) for students at one of the local activity centers (with snacks/lunch included too!) during one of the days off of school in Oct/Nov. Let us know your interest and ideas through this very brief SURVEY.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT...

Interested in getting involved? Meg could use some help with Husky Yard Signs this season with the intention to take over for her next year since her kiddo will be graduating! This is an important Committee position as Yard Signs are great for building school spirit in our community and one of the PTO's most important fundraisers. Meg says that late summer and early fall are the busy times and, after that, the time commitment isn't much. Contact bvnwpto@gmail.com to learn more.

Our Newsletter is in a test period. We are testing new formats/software, frequency and distribution channels so we can get the word out to those who want to be 'in the know' without inundating those who don't. Related to this, we are attempting to "clean up" our parent/member database. So, if you have received this newsletter directly but have kids that are "grown and flown", let us know and we'll take you out of the database. Or, if you clicked into this letter indirectly and want to be added to the list, create an account on our website. Feedback on content, format or anything else is always welcome! BVNWPTO@gmail.com

To catch up, previous newsletters can be found HERE.

WHAT WE'VE DONE

It was fun to see so many parents during Back-to-School Night last night! The cookies and water we provided were quite popular and we appreciated all of the inquiries about getting involved with the PTO. It is going to be a GREAT YEAR!

ABOUT YOUR PTO

Our Mission is to foster a strong sense of community, support student spirit and achievement, and strengthen the partnership between parents, teachers and administration.

We plan to do this by:

  • Supporting our teachers, counselors and school staff, so they feel appreciated and equipped with resources needed.
  • Supporting events, sports, clubs and extracurricular activities that enable all students to have positive experiences and build pride for their school.
  • Informing, engaging and growing our community of PTO Members and donors.
