SUBJECT: YOUR BVNW PTO Weekly Update - October 2 2025

Making Magic Happen!

A BIG THANK YOU to all of our wonderful volunteers who made the Homecoming Tailgate and Dance extra special for our students. The PTO can't have an impact without YOU: our Volunteers, our Donors and our Members! Join us today!

WHAT'S NEWS

What a week it was! An extra big shout-out to Whitney Johnson and Claire Barker who orchestrated a VERY successful HoCo pre-game tailgate. Thank you so much for your hard work! The teachers and school staff even got a big lunch surprise the next day. Congratulations to the Dawg Walk banner prize winners (scroll to see who won!). A big thank you to HoCo Dance volunteers who made the night flow smoothly. And BIG congrats to our HoCo King and Queen, Seniors Mete Berkoz and Madison Kraft, crowned at the Dance Saturday Night.

And we have so much more to report...

BVNW School Directory to be Published Soon

Our Wonderwoman aka VP of Activities and Membership, Katie Scheibel, is putting the finishing touches on an all-inclusive School Directory (a 'sneak peek' of the content is below) to be published later this month. The Directory is a wealth of information all in one convenient place. All PTO Members and Donors will receive a copy. If you are not yet a Member, here is the link to sign today: BVNW PTO Member Sign Up

Local Business Supporters Needed

To help offset the Directory printing costs, the PTO is opening up limited space in the directory for local businesses to advertise. Besides being featured in this indispensable Directory, the PTO will provide a "shout out" in our e-Newsletter and on our website and social media. Email BVNWPTO@gmail.com to learn more.

Wanna Be Teacher's Pet?

WHAT WE'VE DONE

HOCO Support

The PTO-sponsored tailgate was a huge success! There was food aplenty, music, games, bounce house, dance team performance, face painting, Dawg Walk, band performance and more! What a great way to kick off the HoCo Football Game.

The Dawg Walk was a fun way to recognize our various sports and clubs as they marched while showing off the banners they created. The PTO sponsored cash prizes to the club's banner that displayed the best combination of creativity, artistic talent/effort and being 'on theme' (the Golden Hour).

  • Boys Soccer won 1st place and $150 for their club,
  • The 2nd place prize of $100 went to BVNW Animal Advocacy and
  • Choir won $50 for 3rd place.

It was a difficult choice as ALL of the banners were terrific!

The PTO also recruited volunteers and supplied cookies and waters for the Homecoming Dance. The weather was perfect and the event, a lot of fun. A big thank you to the volunteers!

Fall Grants Update

We are currently reviewing the 14 grant requests received - a record number! They are split between Sports like Volleyball, Soccer, Baseball, Football, Cheer and Bowling, Programs like Theater, Dance and Choir, Clubs like DECA, STUGO and Pep Club and Academics. While the total requested is significantly over our allotted budget, we are trying to get creative to make sure that all of the needs are met. Final approval will be made during the PTO meeting on October 14 at 6pm. If you would like to support our Grants Program directly, click HERE to donate to "Invest in Northwest."
