SUBJECT: YOUR BVNW PTO Weekly Update - December 11 2025

THANKFUL FOR OUR DAD COMMUNITY!

Our Father's Club Chapter is a treasure to the BVNW Community!

Spotlight on our Father's Club

Launched in 2018, Father's Club is now in 26 high schools, 16 middle schools and 2 elementary schools in Kansas and Missouri. BVNW is so lucky to have their very own Chapter led by the PTO's own Johnny Johnson (who doubles as our Concessions Manager) and co-chair Nathan Frymire

Father's Club is a dad-led grassroots effort creating a simple way for dads to be intentional with their KIDS, with other DADS and within their COMMUNITY. With resolve, humility and love, their mission is to be a catalyst for positive influence around the world.

Their core values are:

  • Others First
  • Personal Excellence
  • Integrity
  • Work Together
  • Accountability
  • Lead Courageously

Besides being a huge help to the PTO, members of our Father's Club are often seen greeting students in the morning with fist bumps and treats. How wonderful for our students to have male role models so visible and involved!

If you'd like more information on the program visit their website at www.fathersclub.org or, better yet, join the BVNW Father's Club Chapter BAND app by clicking HERE. Join other Husky dads & father figures to help make a positive difference in our school!

Have Fun and Support your PTO @ Trivia Night!

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT...

TEENS IN NEED (T.I.N.) Program Launch

Based on suggestions from several Members, the PTO is starting a "Teens in Need" or T.I.N. program under the umbrella of our Sunshine Committee, led by our awesome Claire Croutch. The purpose is to give all BVNW students the opportunity to participate in academics, sports, performing arts, and school-sponsored activities regardless of financial circumstances. We hope to cover essential costs like equipment, uniforms, and participation fees for example, to help remove financial barriers preventing student engagement: a win-win for the whole BVNW community!

How can you help?

Make a monetary donation that will be used to stretch the PTO budget to purchase items on the list or pay for participation fees. Click HERE and select "T.I.N. Donation" to donate directly to the fund or drop off at the BVNW front desk a check made out to BVNW PTO with "TIN Fund" in the notes.

If you know of a student who has been excluded from a class, sport or activity based on ability to pay, please encourage them to contact their Counselor or Program Sponsor to make a request.

TRIVIA NIGHT HELP WANTED

We need a handful of volunteers to help on Saturday, February 7th, from approximately 5:00p to 10:00p to make our Trivia Night Fundraising Event a success! Click HERE to sign up (dinner will be provided).

WHAT WE'VE DONE

The BVNW PTO Executive Board and Chairpersons met on Monday, December 8th. We reviewed Fall semester activities, where we stand with budget and discussed plans for the Spring semester and beyond.

Some highlights:

  • New Spring Semester Dates to note:  1/30 Spring Grants due; 2/2 New Husky Night; 2/7 TRIVIA NIGHT!; 2/9 Rescheduled PTO Meeting; 2/14 Rescheduled Sweetheart Dance; 3/2 Senior Parent Night
  • Trivia Night is fast approaching and we still need Auction Donations - particularly restaurant gift cards, (sporting) event tickets or memorabilia, vacation homes - as well as Event Sponsorships (a great opportunity for local business to gain exposure within the BVNW Community - Hello tax or financial planners, real estate or insurance agents and other service providers!)
  • Budget is looking good for the year in spite of a shortfall in Concessions income so no adjustments needed. However we are hoping that Trivia Night proceeds will make up the gap in Grant funding due to increased need.
  • Student Day Out - a new activity - was successful so we are planning another on 4/20 or possibly a "Movie Night" at the DAC or PAC on the evening of 4/19.
  • We have received several TIN donations to supplement the PTO budget so are off to a good start to help kids in need participate in Spring sports and auditions, etc.

There will be several Committee positions open next year. If you are interested in becoming a Committee Chairperson next year, please email us at BVNWPTO@gmail.com.
